The Athens Farmers Market is expanding to provide better opportunities for merchants and patrons alike. A long time staple of the downtown area, this new renovation will add more space for vendors, a greenway, and a stage for live music.
The Athens Farmers Market was started to support local agriculture and increase economic opportunities for farmers, small businesses, and artisans; to educate and provide access to healthy local foods; and to build a vibrant gathering place for Athens residents and visitors. The Athens Main Street Board, the overseers of the market, decided that it was time to elevate the space to better serve our growing community and to honor the life of long time Athens Main Street supporter and board member, Doug Gates. AMBL Studios is proud to serve on the Design Committee for the Athens Farmers Market at Doug Gates Park and to provide the design for the renovation.
