SUNRISE PARK

We partnered with Landscape & Urban Planning Firm, ALTA Planning + Design and the City of Athens to convert a 32 acre brownfield site in the heart of Athens into a multipurpose park and development. In 2021, AMBL & ALTA provided the city with a phased master plan for the park that includes a variety of uses such as a playground, splashpad, amphitheater, dog park, and a blend of mixed-use commercial and residential developments. Additionally, the masterplan serves as the anchor point and primary trailhead of the regional bike/ped project, The Singing River Trail. In 2023, the City engaged us to begin working on the first phase of the park by designing the entrance, gateway pavilion, and restroom facility for the playground and splash pad. Ground was broken in 2025 and work officially began. The first phase is expected to be completed by Summer 2026.
